MEET RICHARD SHARP

Copy of Event Images FF (2).png

I’m Richard Sharp — a leadership coach, facilitator and founder of Flea Factory, based on the Sunshine Coast and working with people and organisations across Australia.

I’ve led teams, founded organisations and carried significant responsibility myself.

I know how easy it is to keep moving without finding the space to think clearly about what you’re carrying.

That experience shapes my work now.

HOW I WORK

I help people slow down, pay attention and think honestly about how they are leading.

I don’t arrive with a formula or rush people towards an answer. I bring questions, perspective and enough structure to help good thinking happen.

Sometimes that takes place during a Reflection Morning. Sometimes it happens through a coaching conversation or a longer piece of work with an organisation.

The form may change, but the purpose remains the same: to create space for people who lead to see more clearly and act more intentionally.

Why Flea Factory?

I first encountered Charles Handy’s writing while trying to make sense of my own experience of leadership.

Handy wrote about elephants and fleas. Elephants are large organisations, built for stability and scale. Fleas are smaller and more independent. They can move differently, remain curious and explore what might come next.

I recognised something of myself in both.

I’ve carried responsibility inside organisations and understand the weight of keeping things moving. I’ve also been drawn to questions, new possibilities and ideas that do not yet have an obvious place to belong.

Flea Factory grew from that tension.

It exists to help people remain thoughtful, curious and human while carrying real responsibility — and to make room for something new to emerge when the next answer is not yet clear.

If you carry responsibility and could use some room to think, you are welcome here.
